LENS leverages anti-social networking paradigm based on an underlying trust infrastructure to both extend spam protection beyond a user’s social circle and fundamentally prevent the transmission of spam across the network at the first place.
A part of this project is to select Trusted Nodes form outside user’s social circle or community. These trusted nodes are called Gate Keepers (GKs). Unless a GK vouches for the emails of potential senders from outside the social circle of a particular recipient, those e-mails are prevented from transmission. In this way LENS drastically reduces the consumption of Internet bandwidth by spam.
The goal of this project/thesis is to implement the GK selection protocol in a MailServer and evaluate its performance.
